DOROTHY (ELLIS)BERG



Dorothy (Ellis) Berg, 85 died Monday, September 22ndat Hornell Gardens Nursing Home, following a long illness.



She attended the Bishopville Country Schooland graduated for Arkport Central.



She was employed by Eastman Kodak in Rochester for 29 years, retiring in 1971 andmoving back to Ellis Hill where she resided with her husband, Irving Berg (whomhad predeceased her).



In 1989 she was the founder, major benefactor and named "Heritage Hill" in Arkport. For several years she was chairman of theHeritage Hill Beautification Project Committee prior to her illness.



She was a member of the Arkport United Methodist Churchfor 71 years and was very active, including planting flowers and shrubs outsidethe church, in charge of the Greeters, a back pew adopted Grandparent, Funeralsand Fellowship dinners. She was wellknown by many for her molasses cookies with crab apple jelly, her love foranimals and trying to beautify the town entrance signs with flowers.



She will be greatly missed by her surviving threesisters: Esther Etter of Bellview, Fla, Doris Renkenof New Canaan, CT and Virginia Michalski and husband Robert of Agawam, MA. Brother-in-law,Howard Werth of Dansville, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased her are her parents, Loren &Helen Ellis, Brothers: George and Gaylord Ellis and sister Cleo Werth.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 30thfrom 10:00 a.m. to 12:00noon followed by Funeral Service at Bender-Brown &Powers Funeral Home,
