Doris Ellen Trapp, 84, of
110 Elizabeth Street, passed awaypeacefully Tuesday (March 3,2009) at Elder Care where she had received personal andtremendously loving care for the past 4 years.
Born in Burlington,CTJuly 27, 1924, the daughter of John and Mary AustinTwining, she had resided in Hornell, since 1968. Doriswas retired from the Hornell School System in 2001 as a computer aide. She wasa member of the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church,where she was involved in the youth group, and had played the piano and organ. Doris had been involved in the 4-H Club, but most of allshe loved her family.
She was predeceased by her husbands Charles E Minnick on May 20, 1956, and EdwardTrapp on July 25, 1975,her step daughter Jacqueline Farren in April 2000, her brother David Twining,and grandson Shawn Farren.
She is survived by her daughters Carol (Dan) McCarthy ofNorth Hornell, Renata (George) Zaldivar of Arkport, son Charles (Carol Ann)Minnick of Clarence, and step son William (Ann Marie) Trapp of Cromwell, CT,her sister Eunice Przybysz of CT, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
The family will be present 2-4 &7-9 pm Friday, at the Bender - Brown &Powers Funeral Home,
354 CanisteoSt, Hornell, where Funeral services will be onSaturday, at 1:00 PM, withthe Rev. Nathan Ruble officiating.Burial will be in KnollKreg Memorial Park Cemetery, Abingdon, Virgnina.
