Doris B. Lusk, 87, of 80 Wood Street, passed away Friday (May 21, 2010) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born in the Town of Howard October 15, 1922, the daughter of Claude and Cora Voltz Bossard, she had resided in the Hornell area all her life. She was a graduate of the former Canisteo Academy, and in her early life was a telephone operator and an assembler for Aero Space in Buffalo during the war. She was a member of the former St. Paul's United Church of Christ, and the Women's Guild of the church, a member of the Hornell Moose Club, the Association , and the bowling league. Doris will be remembered as a wonderful wife, sister, daughter and mother as well as a fantastic country cook, artist and a true friend to all. Doris' favorite bible verse was psalm 121:1 "I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth".
She was predeceased by her her parents, two brothers, Clarence and Harold Bossard, and her sister-in-law, Edna Bossard.
She is survived by her husband, William Baird Lusk of Hornell, 3 daughters, Gail (Steven) Lusk-Faes of Canisteo, Cindy (Rich) Giglio of Colorado, and Brenda (Peter) Koerner of PA., her son, Steven Lusk of Corning, and her sister-in-law, Buehla Bossard of Avoca, 5 grandchildren, Nicole Dominique Giglio, Richard Colin Giglio, William Corey Giglio, William Lusk-Faes, and Joseph Lusk-Faes
Honoring Doris' wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private family service will be held at their convenience.
