Doris Jean Saxton, 82, of Clay Street Extension, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday (July 29, 2015) at her home.
Born in North Hornell, NY, October 17, 1932, the daughter of Alvin and Inez Bicknell Harper, she had resided in Hornell all her life. She had been employed for several years at the former Westinghouse in Bath. Jean was a member of the Women Of The Moose and a former member of the Hornell Eagles Club.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Darwin G. Saxton Sr. in 2011, as well as her sisters, Beverly Harper, Joyce Lindsley, and her brother, Alvin Gerald Harper.
She is survived by her daughters, Kim (Paul) Jones of Hornell and Michelle (Daniel) Kelley of Dansville, her son, Darwin G. Saxton Jr (Marilyn) of Arkport, her brother, William J. (Colleen) Harper of Gowanda, and her sister, Sharon (Clarence "Pee Wee") Monnin of Gowanda, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Honoring Doris's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
