Doris C. Blanchard, 84, formerly of Madison Avenue, passedaway Wednesday (March 4, 2009)at St. James Hospital.
Born in Corning,NY, December 17, 1924, the daughter of Leo and Verna(Burd) Cox, she had resided in Hornell all of herlife. Doris was a graduate of the Hornell High School and a Member of the Women ofthe Moose. She was employed for 20 years as a secretary for St. James MercyHospital.
She was predeceased by her husband James on November 26, 2008, a granddaughter Dianda, two sisters, Betty Rothra, Carolyn Scholes and onebrother Ferris Cox.
She is survived by two sons, John (Colleen) Blanchard ofTroupsburg and James (Paula) Blanchard Jr. of Monroe N.C., her brother Leo Coxof Hornell, one sister Maybelle (Carl) Hess ofHornell, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, Nieces & Nephews.
