Donna S. Sick, 80, of 9 Sullivan Street, passed away Tuesday (June 26, 2012) at the Wellsville Manor Health Care Center.
Born in Canisteo, June 6, 1932, the daughter of Alfred and Ora Rathbun Slatt, she had resided in Canisteo during her early life and moved to Arkport about 49 years ago. She was a graduate of Canisteo Central School, Class of 1950, and had attended the State University of New York at Geneseo and Alfred Tech. She had been employed as a lab technician at both St. James Mercy Hospital and the former Bethesda Community Hospital. She was a member of the Arkport United Methodist Church, KOHOCO, the former Canisteo Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star as well as DANWAYCO Mother of Twins. Donna will be remembered for her knitting, especially the Christmas Stockings she knitted for most all her family, friends and neighbors.
She was predeceased by her parents and an infant sister.
She is survived by her husband, Gerwin Sick who she married on May 11, 1963, 2 daughters, Melissa (Donald) Whitney of North Carolina and Gay Sick of Florida, 2 sons, Guy (Tammy) Sick of Hornell and Michael (Tina) Sick of Arkport, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 1 step great grand child.

The family will be present to receive friends 2-4 &7-9 pm Thursday at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM, Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will be in Heritage Hill Cemetery, Arkport.
