Donna Brown-Butcher, 40, of 4251 Maplehurst Road, passed away unexpectedly Monday (April 4, 2011) in Virginia Beach.



Born in North Hornell, September 22, 1970, the daughter of James and Sandra Rowe Brown, she graduated from Hornell High School and earned her Associates at Herkimer College. She had resided in Virginia Beach for several years. She was employed by CMA-CGM America as a contracts supervisor in Virginia Beach.



Donna will be remembered as a Christian woman who showed great love for her husband, son, mother, father, brothers, in-laws, grandparents, and all her extended family and the many others who she would come in contact with. She was outgoing, always thinking of other people putting others first ahead of herself. Donna was a vivacious person, whose smile was infectious to everyone she came in contact with. She was career oriented woman and an all around people person. She enjoyed having her parents and brothers down for frequent visits, and also enjoyed the ocean, canoeing, cookouts, and entertaining. She dearly loved her husband Steve and their son Sage spending a lot of time together as a family.



She is survived by her son Sage Colton Butcher, her parents James and Sandra Brown of Hornell, 3 brothers James J Brown of Hornell, Mark E Brown of Buffalo, and Richard L Brown of TN, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.



The family will be present 2-4 & 7-9PM Monday, April 11, 2011, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am with the Rev. Jerry Springston officiating. Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery, Hornell.
