Donalyn R. Johnson, 62, of Route 305, passed away unexpectedly Saturday (June 30, 2012) at Highland Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Rochester, March 23, 1950, the daughter of Donald and Evelyn (Watkins) Brandt, she was a longtime area resident, graduating from Gates-Chili School "Class of 1969." She was a proud life member of the Cuba AMVETS, where she participated in the Ladies Auxillary and was a Historian. She enjoyed gardening and was affectionately nicknamed "Betty Crocker" for her love of cooking. Donalyn will be most remembered for keeping her unique sense of humor, and perseverance through her illness.
She was predeceased by her father Donald Brandt, her husband Charles H. Johnson, and her nephew Derek Ward.
She is survived by her mother Evelyn Brandt of Friendship, her longtime companion Larry Bunk of Cuba, her 2 sisters Darlene (Dan) Ward of Friendhip, and Deborah (William Reynolds) Holtz of Fillmore, her nephews Donald (Leah) Ward, Arthur Holtz, and a niece Crystal Ward, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at Bath National Cemetery, where she will be buried with her husband Charles.
