Donald R. Smith, 80, of
22 West Avenue, passed away Sunday (May 4, 2008) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bath.
Born in Hornell,NYJanuary 28, 1928, the son of Elmer and Hazel Clark Smith,he had resided most of his life in Canaseraga. He had served 23 years in the US Army andfollowing his discharge, was employed at the former Scott's Dairy in Canisteoand was a self employed landscaper.
He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine Smith in 2000.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Trina Warner of Hornell,Deanna Meyer of Alfred Station and Donna Smith-Harris (Tyrone) of Dansville, 3sisters, Kate Storm of Hornell, Doris Bloom of Geneseo,and Ann Trentanelli of Hornell, 1 brother, John Smithof Hornell, 2 step-daughters, Marilyn Glenn and Vicky Stein, 1 step-son, LowellSherman, 16 grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, nieces andnephews, and his dog and best friend Monique "Mo".

354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will be held at the VeteransAdministration Chapel in Bath on Thursday at 10:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors will be at Bath National Cemetery.
