Donald C LaBourr,89, of 8153State Rte 961F, passed away Tuesday (February 28, 2006) at his home.
Born in Arkport,August 14, 1916, the son of Clark E and FlorenceE Wood LaBourr, he had been alifelong area resident, and graduated Arkport Central School Class of 1935,after school had attended the Coyne Technical School in Chicago. He went toserve our country during WW II in the Army Air Corps. He had been stationed inthe States for eight months, later being deployed to England as part of the B.A.D #2, an airstrip inFrance, Germany at Wiesbaden, Belgium at Camp Top Hat and on the Atlantic Oceanaboard the Abe Lincoln to the USA and finally at Ft. Dix to conclude hisservice during the years 1942-46. Don married Kathryn Hull LaBourr on June 4, 1949. He retiredfrom the NY Board of Fire Underwriters in 1981, where he had been an ElectricalInspector. Don was a member of the Arkport Presbyterian Church, the Arkport Legion Post #( ), where he had served as post commander,a fifty plus year member of the Arkport Exchange Club, holding many offices aswell as president, the Arkport Hose Co. #1 where he had also held many offices.
He was predeceased by his brothers George, H. Reginald, and J. BernardLabourr .
He is survived by hiswife of nearly 57 years Kathryn LaBourr, his son Mark LaBourr of Arkport,nephews Harvey Labourr, John Labourr, Donald Labourr, and a niece Judith Judge
