Donald E. Fuller, 80, of Reservoir Rd., passed away Friday (June 20, 2014) at his daughter's home following a lengthy illness.



Born in Shinglehouse, PA, August 25, 1933, the son of Burrell and Florence Chapman Fuller, he had resided in Hornell the majority of his life. Donald served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956, serving in the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Donald Fuller & Son Contracting in Hornell and was also a truck driver for many years. Donald was a member of the Hillside Baptist Church and enjoyed driving stock car. Donald and his wife Florence had been foster parents for over 25 years, caring for over 67 children. The Fuller's were the emergency placement home for Steuben County, taking responsibility for many children in emergency situations.



In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Florence on April 4, 2014 and one son Donald B. Fuller.



He is survived by three daughters, Bonnie (Darryl) Barth of North Carolina, Joy (Mitch) Weaver of Hornell and Robin (Chris) Fuller-Jones of North Carolina, three sons, Randy (Patti) Fuller of North Carolina, Brion Fuller of Hornell and Daniel (Tina) Fuller of Pennsylvania, many grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, brothers, Carl Fuller of Stannards and Robert (Buena) Fuller of Wellsville.

The family will be present to receive friends from 5Pm until 8Pm on Sunday (June 22, 2014), at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1Pm followed by a fellowship luncheon at the Hillside Baptist Church, Rev. Craig Brittingham officiating. Burial will be in Bath National Cemetery.
