Obituary
Diane Phillips
Diane Lee Phillips passed away on 12/1/25 after struggling for many years due to multiple chronic medical conditions. Diane was born on 2/24/1950 to Eugene and Leora Hunt. She was the oldest of 4 children. She graduated from Hornell High School in 1968 and attended Fredonia College. Diane spent many years in various roles in the retail field before becoming a real estate agent.
Diane relocated to Florida in 1977, where she lived until returning to New York to be with family in 2011. She lived with her mother, Leora, in Hornell for the past several years. During that time Leora and Diane provided each other with much support and companionship.
Diane loved life in Florida and spent much of her spare time walking the beaches. She loved to go out dancing. Diane had many hobbies, including shell collecting, knitting, reading, painting ceramic houses and shopping for clothes. She enjoyed rooting for the Miami Dolphins and loved everything Disney. Friends and family received one of her beautifully hand knitted blankets for the birth of each baby. Many friends and family have also been the recipient of her expertly painted ceramic houses. Diane loved animals, and was particularly devoted to her cats. She greatly admired fancy cars.
Diane is survived by her mother, Leora Hunt, her sons Russ Conjerti (Jennifer) and Christopher Conjerti, her brother Bill, her sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Pat Norton and two grandchildren, Anna Conjerti and Angelo Conjerti. She is also survived by her nieces, Katie Twigg (Dana) and Jennifer Hunt (Victor) and their children. She was predeceased by her father Eugene Hunt, brother Brian and nephews Wiliam Hunt and Merritt Norton. Diane will be greatly missed by her extremely compassionate friend, Teasha Stiles, who took excellent care of Diane for the past few years. She will also be missed by her good friend Rose Hunt.
A private family ceremony will take place in the coming months. Donations in Diane's memory can be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
