Dennie Ray Carney, 44, lifelong resident of Hartsville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday (May 15, 2025). Born in Hornell, February 17, 1981, he was the son of Neil and Linda Campbell Carney.
Dennie was a graduate of Canisteo Central School, and studied auto mechanics at BOCES in Hornell. He had recently been employed at Alstom in Hornell.
Dennie will be remembered for his ability to play drums, and for his love of the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter.
He was predeceased by his father Neil, both his maternal and paternal grandparents , his brother and best friend Lonnie Carney who died in 1992 at age 13 after being born with Progeria.
Surviving are his mother, Linda Carney (John Phillips) of Angelica, his sisters, Dawn McAllister of Dansville and Ashley Carney of Hornell, his brother, Lorne (Tosha Willis) Carney and daughter Tristan Carney of Jasper, 2 nephews, Joshua and Brandon McAllister.
There will be no calling hours. Private family committal services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Brown & Powers Funeral Home of Canisteo.
