David L. Flaitz, 63, of State St., passed away Wednesday (March 28, 2012) at home.
Born in North Hornell, December 7, 1948, the son of Lawrence Flaitz and Daisie Chilson Sadwick, he had resided in Hornell all his life. David attended Hornell High School as well as Alfred University. He previously had been employed for the former Canisteo Furniture and Appliance Store and was a participant at the Hornell ARC. David was an avid reader and enjoyed horticulture as well as riding his bike.
He was predeceased by one sister; Marie Duckett.
He is survived by his father; Lawrence Flaitz of Columbia, MO, mother; Daisie (Vincent) Sadwick of Bergen, two brothers; Richard (Patricia) Ferguson of Kendall and John L. Ferguson of Rochester, Special Friend; Kathy Hansen Rose of Dansville.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday (April 1, 2012) at 2Pm at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St. Hornell, NY 14843. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
