David C. Davis, 54, of Angelica, passed away Friday (February 28, 2014) at home, surrounded by family, following a long courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born in Springville, NY, September 13, 1959, the son of Clarence June Davis and Rita Foges Davis. He attended school at Rushford Central School. He had worked for Gillette Machine and Tool Company, Rochester, NY and Dresser Rand of Wellsville, NY. Dave enjoyed NASCAR, especially, Terry Labonte and Tony Stewart, Classic Cars especially his 1972 NOVA, and drag racing with a special friend, Dan. He enjoyed working on cars and was known for his mechanical ability. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren who were his pride and joys.

David was predeceased by his parents, Clarence June Davis and Rita Foges Davis, a brother Vernon Grim and a sister Althea Davis.

He is survived by his loving wife, Melanie G. Davis, of Angelica. His daughter, Corinne Davis, Angelica and 3 sons, Paul (Lori) Davis, Cuba, Warren Davis, Belmont and David (Kerri) Davis, Angelica. 4 grandchildren, Austin Lewis, Franklinville, Karli Davis, Cuba and Parker and Alyana Davis, Angelica. 3 sisters, Florence Scott Arizona, Doreen Grim(Richard Lewis) South Carolina and Darlene (John) Russell, Almond and one brother Donald (Peggy) Davis of Machias and one nephew and 6 nieces and several great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his Dresser-Rand family.

The family will be present to receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday, March 7, 2014, at the Brown and Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Ave. Angelica. The funeral services will be held on Saturday March 8, 2014, at 11 AM at the funeral home, Rev. David Ford officiating. Burial will be at the Until the Day Dawn Cemetery in Angelica.
