David C. "Chuck" Johnson, 85, of Friendship, passed away Sunday (May 28, 2017) in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his many loved ones after a brief illness.
He was born in Belfast, April 11, 1932, the son of James and Esther Bretour Johnson. Chuck enjoyed spending his time outdoors fishing, hunting and camping. He will be loved and missed by those who knew him.
He was predeceased by his parents, his five sisters; Nora Lewis, Anna Pierce, Theresa Thornton, Gladys Button and Esther Austin, three brothers; William Johnson, Elmer Johnson and James Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years; Shirley Morsman Johnson, his four children; Ginger Perry of Friendship, David (Laurie) Johnson of Friendship, Rhonda Clark of Friendship and Janice Steiner of Olean, one brother; George Herman "Hum" Johnson, Eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

The family observed a private time of visitation at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Angelica followed by a private burial service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Friendship.
