In Loving Memory of Darwin Neal Bacon

February 12, 1952 - October 13, 2026

Darwin Neal Bacon, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away on October 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

A lifetime resident of Canaseraga, New York, Darwin was a man whose life was defined by his gentle spirit, giving heart, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family and community. He was predeceased by his mother and father and 3 brothers. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a way of making those around him feel loved and welcome. He lived with quiet strength, a servant's heart, and a faith that guided his life and the way he treated others.

Darwin devoted 51 years of his working life to driving trucks, demonstrating the dedication, perseverance, and commitment that were hallmarks of his character. Beyond his career, he gave generously of his time to serve his neighbors as a dedicated volunteer with the Canaseraga Fire Department and ambulance service. His willingness to show up for others reflected the kind of man he was-someone who understood that loving your neighbor means more than words; it means putting love into action.

One of the greatest blessings of Darwin's life was his marriage to Doreen Bacon, his high school sweetheart. Together, they shared 55 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, commitment, and family. Their journey together stands as a beautiful testament to enduring love and the blessing of walking through life hand in hand.

Darwin's greatest earthly treasures were his family. He was a loving father to his daughter, Darla Zuchowski, and her husband, Justin, and his son, David Bacon, and his wife, Greer. He was a proud grandfather to his granddaughters Heaven, Savannah, Hannah, Cadence, and Honor, and his grandson, Royce. He was a loving brother-in law and uncle to a large extended family. The love he gave his family and the example he set through his life will remain a lasting part of their hearts and a legacy carried forward through generations.

Above all, Darwin was a man of God. His faith in Jesus Christ was central to his life, shaping his character, his compassion, and his willingness to serve others. He understood that the greatest measure of a life is not found in earthly accomplishments alone, but in the love we share, the lives we touch, and the faith we carry. Though his family and friends grieve his passing, they can find comfort in the promises of God and the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

As Scripture reminds us in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." These words offer a fitting reflection on a life marked by hard work, faithful service, and devotion to the Lord.

While Darwin will be deeply missed by those who loved him, his legacy will live on in the family he cherished, the community he served, the kindness he shared, and the faith he embodied. The hands that worked hard, the heart that gave freely, and the life that honored God have left an imprint that time cannot erase.

Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the hope of Heaven brings comfort in the promise that, through Christ, death is not the end of the story. His family takes comfort in knowing that the love of God endures forever and that the promises of Jesus offer hope beyond this life.

Well done, good and faithful servant. May Darwin's life continue to remind all who knew him to love deeply, serve faithfully, give generously, and keep their eyes fixed on Jesus.

He was loved beyond measure, will be missed beyond words, and will never be forgotten.
