Daniel L. VanOrder, 50, of
8239 Cream Hill Rd.,passed away Sunday (November19, 2006) at St. James Hospital.
Born in Bath, October 11, 1956, the son of Gilbert and Bertie Rice VanOrder, he hadresided in Bathduring his early life, and in Arkport the past 6 years. He had served hiscountry as a member of the United States Marine Corp, and was a member of the Arkport United Methodist Church. Dan had been employed for 15 years in foodservice at the Veterans Administration Hospitalin Bath. At the time of his death, he was employed asa Quality Control Inspector for Alstom in Hornell.
Dan will be remembered as an excellent mechanic who enjoyedworking on motorcycles and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa SteverVanOrder, whom he married August 30, 2003, hisparents, Gilbert and Bertie VanOrder of Bath, two daughters: TishaRose Campbell of Batavia, Abigail VanOrder of Arkport,three sons: Jamie VanOrder of Haskinville, Robbie VanOrder, and Ryan Stever ofArkport, two brothers: Gilbert (Sandy) VanOrder Jr. ofAtlanta, GA, Frank (Linda) VanOrder of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Mother and father-in-law,Al and Jean Stever of Arkport, 6 grandchildren..
The family will be present to receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9PM Tuesdayat the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornellwhere funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM, Rev.PaulEmery officiating. Burial will be in Arkport Cemetery.
