Dale C. Geffers,66, of
6460 Gardner Road,Town of Wheeler,passed away Wednesday (February 16, 2005) in the Fred & Harriett Taylor Health Center in Bath.
Born in Wellsville, April 4, 1938, the son of Theodore andRuth Brandes Geffers,he had resided in Wellsville, Scio and Andoverareas before moving to Canisteo in 1973 where he resided until moving to Bath in 1987. Dale was a graduate of the Wellsville High School,Class of 1957, and had been employed as an Assembler- Welder at the former C.E.Air Preheater Corporation in Wellsville.He had attended the Canisteo Wesleyan Church,was a 10 year member of the Canisteo Fire Dept., and a member of USTA (UnitedStates Trotting Association) .
Dale will be remembered forhis love of animals, especially horses, and the unconditional love given to notonly his wife and family but everyone hemet. In 1996, he and his wife Alice renewed theirwedding vows at the Canisteo Wesleyan Church, on the occasion of their 40thWedding Anniversary,
He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter, Karen Geffers, and his brother, Forest Geffers.
He is survived by hiswife, Alice Lacy Geffers whom he married on June 30,1956, onedaughter: Cindy (Mark) Norton ofCanisteo; 2 sons, Michael (Gail) Geffers of Bath, and Bradley (Sandra) Geffersof Arkport; 5 sisters, Betty Geffers of Wellsville, Margaret (Blaine) Benedictof Florida, Nancy (Glenn) Schaefer of California, Joanne Wilkins of Wellsvilleand Janet (Robert) Pearse of South Carolina, one brother, Donald (Grace)Geffers of Belmont, 7 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces &nephews.

The family will be presentfrom 5-7pm Monday to receive friends at the Brown& Powers Funeral Home,
6 Spruce St., Canisteo.Funeral services will be held at the Canisteo Welseyan Church( GreenwoodStreet) on Tuesday at 11:00 AM, Rev. Donald Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery,Wellsville.
