Curtis M. Butler Jr. 76,of

8774 Burns Road,passed away peacefully at his home onTuesday (March 20, 2007) surroundedby his loving family.



Born in Whitesville, August 5, 1930, the son of CurtisM.and Iva Barret Butler Sr.,he had resided in Coudersport,PA., for several years beforemoving to the Canaseragaarea about 1945. He was a member of the Burns Community Church and a formermember of the Board of Directors of the Church. He was a life member and pastpresident of the Canaseraga Fire Dept.,TheSouthern Tier Car Club, the FosterWheeler 25 Year Club, and was active on the SummerfestCommittee for many years. He was employed as a mechanic at the formerFoster Wheeler Corp. in Dansville, retiring after 50 years service. Curt served his country as a member of theU.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and will be remembered for playing "Crashthe Clown", and Santa Claus for many years.



He was predeceased by his daughter, Helen Butler, his son,Carl Butler, his sister, Virginia LeVee as well as 3brothers, George, Victor and Richard Butler.



He is survived by his wife, Marcella Slocum Butler, whom hemarried in 1952, three daughters: Linda(Mark) Holbrook of Arkport, Marlene (Richard) Mehlenbacher ofFlorida, and Lois (Keith) Chapman of Arkport, four sisters: Arlene (Robert) Ames of Canaseraga, Reva "Peg" (Paul) Fogle of Arkport,Nancy Wing and Rebecca (Glen) Reed both of Pennsylvania, one brother: Donald Butler of Canaseraga, 5 Grandchildren, Jeremy (Kathy) Holbrook, Jennifer (Roger) Payne, Joshua (Nikki LaValley)Holbrook, Kimberly Chapmen and NathanPiedmont, Step-Grandchildren, Andy and Tina Mehlenbacher,Great Grand Children, Alexandria Holbrook, Julia Payne, Reese Payne, and Rachel Ann Holbrook, severalnieces & nephews and his best buddy, his beloved dog "Satch".

The family will be presentto receive friends on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Bender - Brown & Powers FuneralHome, 354 Canisteo Street, Hornell where a fireman's memorial service will beheld on Friday at 6:45 PM. Funeralservices will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at the Burns CommunityChurch. Rev. Titus Linebaugh , Rev. Paul Emery andRev. David Kilgore will officiate.Burial will be in Canaseraga Cemetery.
