Curtis R. Burnell, 53, passed awaypeacefully Monday (July 14,2008) at OleanGeneral Hospital.
Born in Cuba ,September 6, 1954the son of Curtis I and Beverly Kemp Burnell, he hadbeen a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Angelica Central School class of 1973where he ran track and held a record for the mile. Curtis loved Bingo, enjoyedhunting, bird watching, plants, photography, CB radios, and was a hugepractical joker.
He is survived by his wife Karen Tucker Burnellwhom he married in 1988, his parents Curtis and Beverly Burnellof Belmont, his sons Curtis Adam (Helen Rehler) Burnell of Belmont, Justin Allen Burnellof Swain, his ex-wife Glena Scott of CO, maternal grandmother Ruby Kemp ofBelmont, 2 sisters Rosemary (Glen) Hyser of Fla, Darlene (Kenneth) Tyler of Friendship, 2 brothers Sam Burnell of CO, Kenneth Burnell ofBelmont, grandchildren Camrron Rehler,Curtis Ryan Burnell, CalliRae Burnell, Christian Riley Burnell,Hayden Adam Burnell, Aunts, uncles, Nieces, Nephewsand cousins.
The family will be present to receive friends Thursday from 5-7PM at the Brown & PowersFuneral Home 101 West Ave. Angelica, where funeral services will be held at 7:00PM with Rev. Carl Kempofficiating. Burial will be at the Until the Day Dawn Cemetery, Angelica.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Multiple SclerosisFoundation or the Angelica Library.
