Corinne E. Crosby, 81, a resident of McAuley Manor, passed away peacefully Friday (August 9, 2013).
Born in Batavia, October 6, 1931, the daughter of George and Gertrude (Hanft) Boyd, she had graduated from Belfast Central School, and was member of the Belfast Free Methodist Church. In her early years, while raising her family, she and her husband, lived in various places across the USA, such as Colorado, Maine, Arizona, and also for 1 year lived in Thailand. She often remarked that all those places were great, but always longed for good old WNY, moving back to Belfast in 1996. Corinne worked briefly in Arizona in a cafeteria, and also McDonalds for a while. She also enjoyed taking long car rides, reading her Bible, doing seek a word puzzles, and the Hallmark channel.
She was predeceased by her parents, and 2 daughters Virginia Bell, and Nancy Domagala.
She is survived by her ex-husband and friend Hoxsie Crosby of Colorado, 2 sons Mark (Jeannie) Crosby of MO, Jeffrey Crosby of CO, 2 daughters Linda DeVogel of Lockport, Annie (Jimmy) O'Brien of MS, 4 sisters Betty (Harold) Weaver of Belfast, Dorothy "Dot" Zuver of Belfast, June (John) Lamonski of GA, and Jodi Boyd of Houghton, her nephew and caretaker Chester A Gosper IV of Angelica, several grand and great grandchildren, and also several nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Angelica on Wednesday (August 14, 2013) with the Rev. Robert Mackmer officiating. Burial will be at the Hornell Rural Cemetery.
