Collin T. "Grizz" Weakland, 19, of 2 Taylor Street Ext., passed away unexpectedly Saturday (March 2, 2013) at St James Mercy Hospital.



Born in Hornell, May 12, 1993, the son of Robert and Nancy Brundu Weakland, he had resided in Canisteo all his life. He was a 2011 graduate of the Canisteo-Greenwood Central School and was employed in General Building and Contracting at Universal Builders in Canisteo. While in High School, Collin played football and was on the wrestling team. "Grizz", a nickname he acquired because he was a "gentle giant" will be remembered for his love of music, especially playing the guitar and writing music, and his contagious laugh.



He was predeceased by his Grandfather, George Weakland.



He is survived by his mother, Nancy Brundu Weakland of Hornell, his father, Robert Weakland of Canisteo, his sister, Ashley Weakland of Canisteo, his maternal grandparents, Lu and Eleanor Brundu of Hornell, and his Paternal Grandmother, Eleanor Weakland of Canisteo. He is also survived by many friends and relatives, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will be present to receive family and friends from 2-4 &7-9 PM Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo. A private funeral services will be held for the family at their convenience.
