Clayton O. Todtenhagen, 78, of 1190 Webbs Crossing Road, passed away Sunday (September 13, 2009) at his home.
Born in Buffalo, NY, August 29, 1931, the son of Chester and Dorothea (Beiltuss) Todtenhagen, he had resided in the Hornell area since 1992. Clayton was a graduate of the Erie Community College and had been employed as a construction engineer for Centrex Construction in Virginia working on the Library of Congress, the Ralph Wilson Stadium as well as many other sites. Clayton worked as a quality control officer for the Naval Academy Wreck Center. He served his country in the U.S. National Guard as a lieutenant. Clayton was a member of the Canisteo American Legion and the Hiram Masonic Lodge # 105 in Buffalo and a former member of the Moose. He loved playing poker Wednesday afternoons with his friends. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Anns Church in Hornell.
He was predeceased by his parents, one brother Roy and one sister Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn (Borgioli) Todtenhagen of Hornell, 4 daughters; Patricia Lingenfelter of Wyoming, Lynn (Ron) Bradley of Grand Island, Lori (Jay) Rivers of Lockport and Lisa Gerace of Grand Island, a step daughter, Mari (Bruce) Jamison of Canisteo and a step-son, Mark (Michelle) Dengler of Tennesee, one brother Robert of Buffalo, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Honoring Clayton's wishes there will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Friday October 2, 2009 at 1PM at the St. Ann's Church, Hornell.
