Clair E. Harding, 78, of
4643 County Rte. 16, passed away Friday (March 16, 2007) at Strong Memorial Hospitalin Rochester.
Born in Angelica, January 3, 1929, the son of Florris and Clara Eldredge Harding,he had resided in Angelica all his life. He was a graduate of the Angelica High School, Class of 1948, and had beenemployed as a sheet metal worker for the former Acme Electric in Cuba . He was amember of St. Paul'sEpiscopal Church in Angelica.
Clair was the Angelica Town and Village Justice,serving 38 years on the bench. He was a lifetime member and past fire chief of the Angelica Fire Dept and RescueSquad, and an EMT with the department. He was a member of the New York StateMagistrates Association and had taught the hunters safety course for 30years. Clair will be remembered as onewho enjoyed the out doors, hunting, fishing, and gun collecting.
He was predeceased by his parents, and two brothers, Johnand Thomas Harding.
He is survived by his wife, UvonneYoung of Angelica, step-daughter, Candace ( Gary) Thompson of Geneseo,step-son, Martin (Karen) Leonard of Angelica, his sister, Joanne Little, 4grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and special friends Jim and Norrine Ryan.
The family will be present to receive friends on Wednesdayand Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PMat the Brown & Powers Funeral Home,
101 West Ave., Angelica where a Fireman'sMemorial Service will be held on Thursday at 7:30 PM. Services will be held onSaturday (March 24, 2007) at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Angelica at 1.00pm. Burial will follow in Until The Day DawnCemetery, Angelica, NY
