Charles M. Welty 76 a resident of North Main Street Ext. passed away Wednesday evening (Nov. 19, 2025) at Vincent House in Wayland.

Born in Hornell, November 5, 1949, he was the son of Gerald and Doris Stewart Welty and had resided in the Hornell area all his life. He was a graduate of Arkport Central School and had been employed as a draftsman for the New York State Department of Transportation in Hornell, prior to his retirement.

Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Hornell Association.

Surviving are his sister, Cherie Hobson of Hornell, his niece, Dianne (Kirk) Sherman of Burkeville, Virginia, his nephew, Ronald (Tami) Hobson of Charlestown Indiana

, his great niece, Heather (Michael) Payne of Blackstone, Virginia, his great great nephew, Jedidiah Vankuren , two great- great nieces,

Stephani Payne and Zyra Payne.

There will be no calling hours. A Celebration Of Life will be held on Saturday (Nov. 29, 2025) from Noon until 4PM at the Church Street Community Building. For directions please call 607-590-5764
