Charles William Lytle, 87 year old of 7753 Tucker Hill Rd. went home to be with His Lord and Maker on Friday (May 13, 2011). He was born on July 27, 1923 in Angelica, NY to John G. and Myrtie J. (Bacon) Lytle. On November 8, 1947 at First Baptist Church of Angelica, NY, he married Gertrude Ann "Polly" Platt who survives.



Charles was a graduate in 1941 from Wilsonian High School in Angelica. He operated a dairy farm on West Almond road near Angelica for forty-five years. He also worked for the Allegany Highway Department retiring after twenty years. After retiring Charlie and Polly spent their winters in Brooksville, Florida and summers in Houghton NY. His family; wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews were all a great delight to him. Teasing and playing tricks on them was a favorite pastime. He also enjoyed his flower gardens and animals, epecially horses.



Surviving beisdes his wife are six children a daughter Cheryl (Sam) Brown of Roanoke, Va, a daughter Diane (Horace) Emmons of Houghton, NY, a son John (Karen) Lytle of Roaring Spring, PA, a daughter Wendy (Jerry) Pelletier, of Jacksonville, FL, a son Kevin (Patricia) Lytle of Fairfield MT, and a daughter Virginia ( Mark ) Kepple of Port Byron, NY. He also survived by many grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as a sister Rosemary (David) Smith of Arkport, NY. He was preceded in death by a sister Marilyn (Raymond) Donovan of Hornell, NY and an infant brother John Lytle.



Charles was a member of the First Baptist Church of Angelica, NY. Friends are invited to call on Sunday (May 29, 2011) 2:00pm for visitation at First Baptist Church of Angelica, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00pm. The Memorial service will be officiated by Rev. David Ford of First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Angelica, or the Hospice Care of Western New York.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Brown & Powers Funeral Home of Angelica. Burial will be at the Until the Day Dawn Cemetery in Angelica.
