Charles A. "Charlie" Boetcher

Charles A. Boetcher, 80, a longtime resident of the Hornell Gardens, passed away Tuesday (December 4, 2012) at the Hornell Gardens.
Born in Hornell, November 4, 1932, the son of Ernest M. and Maude (Wilson) Boetcher, he was a lifelong area resident. Charlie had worked for the City of Hornell, and was retired from the Hornell School District. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hornell, where he sang in the choir, and participated in numerous other activities at the church. Charlie loved music, especially the Trombone, had sang in the Barber Shop Quartets, and was a member of the Preservation Association of Barber Quartets.
He was predeceased by his parents and his wife Ruth in 1980.
He is survived by 2 sisters Margaret Saltzer of Shortsville, and Evelyn Christophersen of California, several nieces and nephews as well as several grand nieces and nephews.
The family will be present 1:30-2PM Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, with the Rev. Jerry Springston officiating. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery in Hornell.
