Carl Shutt, 81, of Ponchatoula, passed away Sunday (December 7, 2008) at North Oaks Medical Center, LA.
Born in Whitesville, August 1, 1927, the son of Royand Myrtil Smith Shutt, hehad resided in New York,before moving to Ponchatoula,LA. He served in the US Army honorably dischargedin July of 1947. Carl married Joyce Linza in 1951,who survives with 4 children Christine (Philip) Jones of Arkport, Susan (Carlton)Stanley of Springfield, VA, Robert (Colleen) Shutt ofAvoca, and William (Diana) Shutt of Dansville, alsosurviving a sister Ruth Mason of Andover, 11 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 1 nieceBarbara Shutt of Arkport. He enjoyed motorcycling,flying, and especially fishing. Carl very much enjoyed his later years livingin Louisiana,and was a retired employee of the former Foster-Wheeler Co. of Dansville.
He was predeceased by his 2 brothers Merle Shutt, and Darwin Shutt.
The family will be present to receive friends at the Haskinville Wesleyan ChurchSaturday (Jan. 3, 2009)from 10am-11am with funeralservices to follow at 11:00am.
