C. Robert "Bob" Bowles, 81, of
7240 State Route 21, passed away Saturday (February 25, 2006) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Hornell, June 10, 1924, the son of Clyde and Agnes Schoonover Bowles, he had resided most all his life in the Hornell area. He was a graduate of Hornell High School and had been employed as a machinist for the former SKF Industries in Hornell prior to his retirement in 1988. Bob had served in the Army Air Corp during WW-2. He was a member of Our Lady of The Valley Parish having attended both St. Ann's and St. Ignatius Loyola Church. Bob will be remembered as an avid "Buffalo Bills Fan".
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lucia Bowles of Geneseo, two daughters, Judith (Anthony) DiRisio of Lancaster, Patricia (William) Foster of Arkport, two sons: Jeffery( Georgia) Bowles and Michael (Paula) Bowles both of Seattle Washington, two sisters: Lois (James) Iak of Rush and Mary (Robert) McBride of PA., one brother, Donald Schoonover of Arizona. 8 Grandchildren, nieces & nephews.To send a remembrance, please visit www.brownandpowersfuneralhomes.com .
The family will be present to receive friends from10:00 AM until 12Noon Saturday, March 4, 2006, at the Alfred Almond Bible Church, Route 21, Almond, where funeral services will follow calling hours at 12:00 Noon with Rev. John Prince officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo, NY
