Burton F. Nesbit, 82, of
7 Linwood Ave., passed away Tuesday (April 17, 2007) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bath.
Born in Hornell, May 28, 1924, the son of BurtonC.and Eunice Green Nesbit, he had residedon
Lain Roadin the Town of Hornellsvilleprior to moving to North Hornell. He was a graduate of Hornell High School,Class of 1943, and served his country as a member of the United States Armyduring WW-2. Burt was employed as a Locomotive Engineer for the Erie, and the Erie Lakawanna Railroad as well asConrail prior to his retirement in 1984.
Burt was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hornell, amember and Past Master of the formerHornellsville Lodge #331, F&AM of Hornell, a current member of UniversityLodge #944 F&AM of Almond, DeMolayCommandary #22, Knights Templar, Steuben Chapter 101, Royal Arch Masons,American Legion Post #440 of Hornell, Hornellsville Council #35 Cryptic Masons,the National Wood Carvers Association, and the Brotherhood of LocomotiveEngineers.
He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, RobertNesbit.
He is survived by his wife, Wynona Cleveland Nesbit whom hemarried Feb. 6, 1944, his sister-in-law, Mary Nesbit of Bath, hisbrother-in-law, Jack (Sherry) Bailey of Odessa, Texas, nieces, nephews andcousins.

354 CanisteoStreet, Hornell where a Masonic Memorial Servicewill be held on Thursday evening at 8:30PM. Funeral services will be held following calling hours on Friday at 1:00PM. Rev. Michael Childswill officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Rural Cemetery,Hornell.
