Bruce B. Brewster, 86, of Mill Street, passed away Tuesday (June 28, 2016) at Noyes Hospital, in Dansville.
Born in Howard, December 18, 1929, the son of Frank and Gladys Nichols Brewster, he had resided on the Big Creek Road in his early life but most of his adult life in Canaseraga. Bruce was a member of the Valley Wesleyan Church in Canaseraga. He was employed as a welder for the former Foster Wheeler Corporation in Dansville and after his retirement from Foster Wheeler, was employed as a welder for the former Morrison-Knudsen in Hornell. Bruce was a tree surgeon for Aspen, and Monroe Tree Service and also a self-employed tree surgeon. One of his great accomplishments was being a professional boxer and was awarded the Golden Gloves Award three times and was also inducted into the Rochester Boxing Hall of Fame. Bruce was an avid hunter especially hunting raccoons.
He was predeceased by his parents, one son Barry Brewster, three brothers Foster, Mark and David Brewster and two sisters Edna Bailey and Alice O'Brien.
He is survived by his wife Mabel McConnell Brewster to whom he was married on April 18, 1953, three sons Bruce Brewster Jr. of Arkport, Brett (Pam) Brewster of East Aurora and Jim (Jody) Satterfield of Canaseraga, 14 Grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday, June 30, 2016, from 12PM-2PM and 4PM-6PM at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Additional calling hours will be held Friday July 1, 2016 from 11AM-12PM at Valley Wesleyan Church, Canaseraga, NY 14822 where a Funeral Service will follow at 12PM, Rev. Jason Shambach officiating. Burial will follow in Canaseraga Cemetery.
