Brian P. Shinebarger, 34, of the Avon-Caledonia Road, passed away unexpectedly Saturday (April 2, 2016) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.



Born in Hornell on February 21, 1982, he spent his early life in Hornell and attended Alfred Almond Central School. Brian was a very personable soul and will be missed by his many friends especially Tonya.



Brian was an avid fisherman and one of his favorite things was fishing on Conesus Lake with his father and brother. He was looking forward to taking his son fishing this summer at the Lake. He also enjoyed working with his father in the masonry business.



He was predeceased by his beloved brother Kevin, his maternal grandparents, John and Mary Fenton and his paternal grandparents, Robert and Margaret Shinebarger.



He is survived by his adored son, Kevin James Shinebarger, his parents, Steven Shinebarger and his wife Shirley of Lakeville, and Patricia Schwartz and her husband James of Hornell, his brother, Dr. Steven Shinebarger and his wife Erin of Hornell, his step-sister, Corey (Aaron) Clark of North Chili, and four nephews,

A private family funeral service was held at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Hornell followed by a committal service and burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Almond. Rev. Craig Brittingham officiated at the service.



In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make a contribution to a Trust Fund being established for Brian's son Kevin. Checks can be made out and sent to Dr. Steven Shinebarger, 52 Crosby Street, Hornell, NY 14843.
