Beverly J Rice, 70, of
88 Sherwood Ave, passed away Friday (April 27, 2007) at St. James Hospital.
Born in Hornell, June 10, 1936, the daughterof Arthur and Elma Burns Johnson, shewas a lifelong area resident. Beverlywas a graduate of Hornell High School, and wasmember and Trustee of the Hornell Free Methodist Church.She had been the co-owner of Rice's Market, and also co-managed Peanuts Bar inHornell. Bev loved animals, gardening, flowers, andhaving coffee with her friends. She will be remembered for her beautiful smileand wit.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband DavidRice in 1996.
She is survived by 3 sons David (Bonnie) Rice of NiagaraFalls, Mark Rice of Hornell, and Rick (Cathy) Rice of Kenmore, 2 sisters Susan(Edward) Shiloh of Hornell, Sally (Raymond) Duke of Canisteo, 2 brothers ArthurJohnson of Washington, Dale (Hope) Johnson of Dansville, 7 grandchildren, 2great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews.
The family will be present 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday, at the Bender - Brown &Powers Funeral Home,
354 CanisteoSt, Hornell, where funeral services will beheld Tuesday, at 11:00AM, with the Rev. William Powell officiating. Burial will be in Arkport Cemetery.
