Beverly E. Recktenwald, 89, of Third St., passed away Monday (October 26, 2015) at St James Hospital in Hornell.
Born in Hornell, May 7, 1926, the daughter of William J. and Winifred E. Norton Barney, she had resided in the Hornell-Canisteo Area all her life. Beverly worked for the former Heugates in Hornell as well the Hornell City School District. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Hornell and was an avid reader, loved playing cards, her flower gardens, and Halloween.
In addition to her parent's Beverly was predeceased by her husband, John in 1961, two sisters, Shirley Hartwell and Wilma Heald.
She is survived by her children Barbara (Thomas) Wallace of Florida, Susan Bandi of Florida, Michael (Carol) Recktenwald of Florida, Daniel (Wen) Recktenwald of Louisiana, and Richard Recktenwald of Liverpool, one brother, William Barney of Arkport, two sisters, Patricia Kilburn of Hornell and Sherry Walter of South Carolina, five grandchildren, Andrew, Kris, Jennifer, Chris and Cole, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
