Betty Ann Boyd Weaver

Betty Weaver age 92 of East Hughes Street, passed away peacefully on Sunday (December 21, 2025) at Olean General Hospital.
She was born in Pembroke, NY on May 2, 1933 the daughter of George Boyd and Gertrude Hanft Boyd, and moved to Belfast at 3 years old with her family. She started school in a one room schoolhouse at the top of Gleason Hill in 1938, and in 1939 started at Belfast Central School, graduating "Class of 1951". Not long after graduating she married Harold J. Weaver on August 11, 1951, and was predeceased by him in 2017. Betty started her career at Harringtons Grocery, and started driving School Bus at Belfast Central School in 1963-1998, and then took on a Teachers Aide position from 2000-2015. She was a devoted member of the Belfast Free Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School, and participated in many committees. She loved to play cards and Bingo. Traveling was her favorite thing to do. She'd visited all 50 states, and also the countries of England, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, and Wales. Her children and grandchildren fondly remember how she always made time for each of them. The community still shares fond memories from her long-time employment at Belfast Central School, a true Belfast Bulldog at heart.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Harold on October 3, 2017, her sisters Corinne Crosby, Dorothy "Dot" Zuver, and Jodi Boyd.
She is survived by her children: Trudy Dorsey, George Weaver, David (Wanda) Weaver, William (Vicki) Weaver, Lori (Nate) Olcott, Margaret Young, and Harold (Pam) Weaver, her sister June Lamonski, 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephew, church friends, and community friends.
Calling hours will be on Saturday (December 27, 2025) from 11am-1pm at the Belfast Free Methodist Church 11 Chestnut Street in Belfast, where a Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm with Pastor Joshua Lehman to officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Belfast.
