Betty J Gonyea, 86, of 199 River Street, passed away Wednesday (November 21, 2012) at St. James Mercy Hospital.
Born in Cohocton, February 14, 1926, the daughter of Daniel and Fannie (Stryker) Fairbrother, she was a lifelong area resident, and a graduate of Atlanta North Cohocton School. She was a member of the Atlanta Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, New York. She was a devoted, and compassionate woman who dedicated her life to taking care of her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, and her 3 husbands Vernon Sick, Robert Washburn, and James Bartholomew.
She is survived by her children: Joan (John) Bernhard of Rochester, Douglas (Diane) Sick of Hornell, David (Deborah) Sick of Texas, Donald (Sandy) Bartholomew of Nunda, Robert Washburn Jr. of Dansville, Hope Smith of Cohocton, and Jane Sprague of Cohocton, several brothers, sisters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Graveside service will take place at Clearview Cemetery in North Cohocton at a later date.
