Beth Haines-He, 78, of Ordway Lane, passed away peacefully Sunday (May 27, 2018) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Spangler, PA, October 10, 1939, the daughter of John Henry and Mary Barbin Thorhauer, she had resided in Canisteo for the past 18 years. She was a graduate of the University Of Pittsburg where she received her master's degree in education. She taught elementary school for many years at the Clarkstown School District in New City, New York.
Beth was a member of the Arkport Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and Deacon. She also served as a deligate and moderator of the Presbytery of Geneva. She was a member for several years of the Canisteo Council of Churches.
She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband; Rev. Kenneth Haines in 1988, and her daughter; Ann E. Haines in 2005.
She is survived by her husband; Guo Yuan He of Hornell, her sons; Jeff (Ann Johnson) Haines of Florida, Rev. Todd (Esther) Haines of Arkport and her foster son; Dr. Harold Recinos of Texas, her grandchildren; Rachel Haines, Jonathan Haines and Grace Fan.

The family will be present to receive friends from 7 PM until 9 PM on Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., in Canisteo. A Memorial Service will be held at the Arkport Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM, Rev. Bruce Incze and Rev. David Kilgore officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
