Bertha L. Guthrie,89, of
8037 Guthrie Road,Town of Fremont, went to be with her Lord Monday (April 5, 2004) at her homesurrounded by her family.
Born in Wellsville , March 23, 1915, the daughterof Ransom and Bertha Smith, shehad resided in the Town of Fremont since 1946. She had been employed in the Cafateria of the Hornell Senior High School prior to herretirement in 1985. Recently, she hadattended the River Of Grace Ministries in Hornell.
In Greenwood, on March 3, 1940, she married Thomas Guthrie whopredeceased her on Nov. 21,1989. She was also predeceased by her son Thomas Guthrie in 1979, 2grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, aswell as all of her 14 siblings.
She is survived by one daughter: Joyce (Steve) Strasburg of Arkport ,

Robert (Gennie) Guthrieof Arizona
William (Lyla) Guthrie of Florida
John (Patricia) Guthrie of Hornell
Daniel (Patricia) Guthrie of Hornell

The family will be present to receive friends on Thursdayfrom 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the BENDER-BROWN & POWERS FUNERAL HOME, 354Canisteo Street, Hornell where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00AM with Rev. Bruce Dravneek officiating. Burial will follow in Stephens Mills Cemetery.
