Bernice J. Vincent, 89, of 1190 County Route 66, passed away Monday (October 27, 2014) at St James Mercy Hospital.
Born in Hornell, August 8, 1925, the daughter of Fay H. and Mildred E, Reed Green, she had resided in Hornell all her life. She had been employed at the former Merrill Hosiery in Hornell, and retired after working 26 years for the Steuben County Meals on Wheels program at the Hornell Nutrition Site on the Broadway Mall. Bernice was a member of the United Methodist Church in Canisteo and was an avid camper. She enjoyed embroidery but most of all enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bernice was honored in 1995 with a 50 year membership in Ivanhoe Chapter #160, Order of Eastern Star, where she had served as matron .
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Raymond Vincent in 1996, her daughter Helen Erskine in 2011, as well as her two sisters, Agatha DeMarr and Norma Vance and her brother, Francis Green.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Garfield) Perrine of Mexico, NY, and Penny Nunn of Hornell, one son, Fay (Julie) Vincent of Arkport, her son-in-law, John (Linda) Erskine of Florida, her sister, Mildred Beck of Ohio, and her brother, Richard (Barbara) Green of Canisteo, sister-in-law, Betty Green of Horseheads, 11 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Beverly Welch will officiate. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Hornell..
