Bernice Ernestine Niles Burdick was born August 8, 1937 in Rushford, NY to George and Bernadine Fern Lee Niles. She was married to Raymond P. Burdick on September 15, 1957 in Angelica, NY. Bernice was predeceased by her parents, 2 sisters Eleanor Organski, and Gladys Price, and her brother Ervin Niles.
Bernice had worked as a telephone operator in Arcade, Marion Rohr in Hornell, as an Avon Representative, the Canaseraga Central School in the cafeteria and as a bus monitor and retired in 1999 due to her mother’s illness.
She is survived by her husband Raymond of nearly 65 years, her daughter Julie Rae Barbour of Canaseraga, 2 grandsons Dennis Pierce II, and Dakota Pierce, 2 brothers Marvin (Ann) Niles, Melvin (Marcia) Niles, 2 sisters Amy (Duke) Maltoon, and Pearl (Joe) Elias, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Andover at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are with the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Hornell.
