Belvera I. Saunders, 76,formerly of
North Main St. went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday (October 1, 2006) at the Steuben CountyHealth CareFacility in Bath.
Born in Rexville, December 5, 1929, the daughterof Philip and Hazel Guild Saunders, she had resided in Arkport, Burns and manyyears in Hornell. Belvera had been a Watiress for various restaurants includingthe former Sherwood Hotel in Hornell, Billy Schu's and the Big Elms both inHornell, as well as the original manager of the Wooden Indian Store in Hornell. She was a former member ofthe Park United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased byher parents and her lifelong companions,her dogs, Wolf and Wolfette
She is survived by 2daughters Peggy Lynn (Howard ) Plank of Hornell, Cynthia Rosell Teator ofHornell, 3 sons Gary (Phyllis) Swackhamer, of Hornell, Larry (Joanie)Swackhamer of N. Hornell, and Robert E Rosell II of Florida, 1 sister NellieMae (Robert) Shields of Alma, PA 1 brother Leo (Loree) Saunders of Whitesville11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, and her beloved cat Tigger-Tig.
