Barbara A. Kelly, 66, of 1190 County Route 66, passed away unexpectedly, Monday (October 1, 2012) at St James Mercy Hospital.
Born in Hornell, March 5, 1946, the daughter of James Soble and Hazel Paul Moore, she had resided in Canisteo most all her life. She was a graduate of Hornell High School, and was employed as a Senior Engineering Technician in the Right Of Way Mapping Department at the Hornell Department of Transportation, retiring after 32 years of service. Barbara enjoyed quilting but will be most remembered for her love of her family and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by her children, Stacey (Tom) Stanton of Wayland and Jamie Kilmer of Canisteo, her sisters, Irene Mauro of Hornell and Genevieve Lamphier of Greenwood, her brother, James (Laura) Soble of Warsaw, her 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Stanton, Gabrielle Stanton, Samantha Stanton, Olivia Kilmer and Luke Kilmer, several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends from 5-8 PM Friday, October 5, 2012, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Rev. Donald Maynard will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
