Barbara A. Gombas

Barbara A. Gombas, 72, formerly of Maple Court Homes, passed away Thursday (January 31, 2013) at Gatehouse Hospice in Williamsport PA.
Born in Passaic, NJ, January 3, 1941, the daughter of Peter and Sally (Panuccio) Scheffer, she had resided in NJ for many years moving to Hornell 12 years ago. Barbara had worked for the former Sterns Dept. store in NJ and was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant at St. Ann's Church where she was a former servant. She was an avid Elvis fan and loved bowling, bingo, her cat Lucky but most of all her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by her two sons; Bruce (Evelyn Marie) DiBella of Hornell and Joseph (Denise) DiBella of Totowa, NJ, two grandchildren; Daniel and Nicholas DiBella.

The family will be present to receive friends on Monday (Feb. 4, 2013) from 6Pm until 8Pm at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11Am at St. Ann's Church in Hornell. Burial will be in St. Nicholas in Lodi NJ.
