Barbara J. (Clemons) Cummings, 75, of Lake Placid, Florida, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday (August 4, 2009) at her Lake Clay Drive residence, surrounded by her children.
Born in Horseheads, November 20, 1933, the daughter of Lynn and Jennie Clemons, she had resided in Canisteo her early years and graduated from Canisteo Central School, Class of 1952. She resided in Wellsville for several years prior to moving to Florida in 1993. She had been employed as an Administrative Assistant in the Banking industry for several years. She was an avid oil painter.
She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband, Robert Dean Cummings in 1996.
She is survived by her children, Richard Cummings of Naples, Bruce (Dianne) Cummings of Florida, Keith (Kathy) Cummings of Wheatfield, and Julie (Daniel) Costello of Wellsville, 7 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren.
The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00AM until 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo where a Memorial Service will follow calling hours at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Canisteo.
