Audrey K. Dunn, a resident of Canisteo, passed away Friday (August 2, 2024),
at the age of 94.
Born July 3, 1930 in Hornell, she was the daughter of Otis and Bessie Grey Quick.
Audrey spent her early life in the Hornell-Canisteo area before moving to Maryland in
1966. She returned to Canisteo in 1997 to make her home. She had been employed at
North Arundel Hospital in Maryland and as a cashier at the former ACME market in
Canisteo.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Harold Dunn in 2015, her son Hal
Dunn 2023 as well as her sister Anah Burse, and brothers, Harold, Clyde, Eldon and Shirley Quick.
Surviving are her daughters, Audrey Cline of Canisteo and Michelle (Glenn) Mellen of
Florida, her son, Jay Dunn of Georgia, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, several
nieces and nephews.
Following Audrey’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life to honor both Audrey and Harold will be held at a time and place to be announced.
Burial will be in Bennetts Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Canisteo Fire Department, of which Harold was fireman.
Gerald R. Brown, Director at Brown & Powers Funeral Home of Canisteo is assisting
the family with arrangements.
