Anthony D. Postilli, 73, of 14 Stephens St., passed away Sunday (September 15, 2013) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bath.



Born in Hornell, NY, June 14, 1940, the son of August and Genevieve Shea Postilli, he had resided in Hornell nearly all his life, before moving to Canisteo in 2002. Tony was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1960, and had been employed as a welder and blaster at the former Foster-Wheeler Corporation in Dansville prior to his retirement in 1995. Tony served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Hornell. He was a former member of the Hornell American Legion, the Hornell VFW and had served as a member of the Honor Guard at the VFW, He was also a member of the Hornell Association.



He is survived by his daughter, Mary (Steve) Brady of Florida, his son, Anthony Postilli Jr. of North Carolina, his brother, August Postilli of Hornell and his longtime friends, Mary and David Parker of Canisteo, several grandchildren.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo on Wednesday from 10 AM until 12 Noon at which time a prayer service will be held with Rev. Peter Anglaaere officiating. Committal services and military honors will be held at the Bath National Cemetery at 2PM on Wednesday.
