Annabelle W. Simms, 85, formerly of North Hornell, passed away Monday (July 30, 2012) at McAuley Manor, where she had resided the past year.



Born in Canisteo, January 2, 1927, the daughter of Claude and Laura Raner Morse, she had resided in the Hornell-Canisteo areas all her life. She was a graduate of Canisteo Central School and had been employed at the former Tuttle & Rockwell Store and the Murray Stevens Clothing Store in Hornell. She later became employed as a bookkeeper at Steuben Trust Company, retiring after several years of service. She was an active member of the Hornell United Presbyterian Church.



She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, Donald Waufle and her second husband, Charles Simms as well as her sister, Doris Bloss.



She is survived by 2 sons, James Waufle of Alfred Station and Stephen Waufle of Florida, her sister, Vera Hollenbeck of Rochester, and 4 grandchildren, Julie Bridge, Jody Neidermaier, Shawn and Kelly Waufle, several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Davidson Chapel of the Hornell United Presbyterian Church on Thursday from 1PM until 2 PM at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. David Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
