Anna Leonard Curry, 86,of
297Canisteo St., passed away Friday (February 4, 2005) shortly after arrival at St. James Hospital.
Born in Troupsburg, March 17, 1918, she was the daughterof William and Mary Graham Leonard.She graduated from Young Hickory Schooland Hornell High School, Class of 1935. Aftergraduation, she was employed by the Liggett DrugCompany until her marriage on October25, 1939 to Raymond I. Curry.They owned Curry's Funeral Home until July of 2001. She was licensed by New York State as a Funeral Director in Februaryof 1943. Anna retired from Fay's-EckerdPharmacy in 1980 as Manager of the Drug Department.
Anna was a charter member and communicant of St. IgnatiusLoyola Church, and a member of the Rosary and Altar Society .She was an active member of theformer St. Ann'sMother Club, President of the Zonta Club of Hornell, past Regent of Catholic Daughters ofthe Americas ,Court St. Ann #194, a member for morethan 60 years of the Ladies of Columbus, former St. James Mercy HospitalWomen's Board for 50 years, andcurrently a member of St. James Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, as well as the St.Ann's and Hornell High School Alumni Association, and the Steuben CountyFuneral Directors Association.
Anna was interested in Genealogy and was always cooking for family andfriends, especially on birthdays and St Patrick's Day. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, readingand gardening.
She was predeceased byher husband, Raymond I. Curry, on December 28, 1998, as wellher brothers; John, William, Paul, James, and her sisters, Mary Ann, Elizabethand Ellen.
She is survived by one daughter: Mary Ellen Curry of Hornell, one son anddaughter in law, Thomas and Mary Ann Curry of Webster, grandson, David andgreat grand daughter, Savannah Marie, of Webster, as well as nieces , nephewsand cousins.

The family will be present from 2 until 6PM Sunday and from 3 until 7 PM Monday to receive friends at the Bender-Brown& Powers Funeral Home,
354 Canisteo St., Hornell.Family and friends will meet at St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Hornell onTuesday at 11 AM for a Massof Christian Burial. Father Paul Schnacky as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery, Town of Fremont.
