Anna M. Burritt, 81, formerly of 23 Hakes Ave., passed away Wednesday (July 27, 2016) at St James Mercy Hospital.
Born in Hornell, January 10, 1935, the daughter of Martin J. Clancy Sr. and Josephine Jackson Clancy , she had resided in Hornell all her life, She was a member of Our Lady Of The Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Hornell. Anna was a life member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hornell VFW.
Anna was an active participant in serving meals for special occasions at the Hornell American Legion as well as the Hornell VFW, and was proud of providing activities and special meals for the Veterans in the Hornell area and especially residents of the Veterans Hospital and Nursing Home in Bath. For many years she was an active participant of the Foster Grandparents Program in Canisteo.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Robert Burritt Sr. in 1990, her son, Robert Burritt Jr. in 1975, her sisters, Mary Ross, and Veronica Clancy and her brother, Martin Clancy Jr.
She is survived by her daughter. Joanne Rahr of Canisteo, her sons; Stephen (Barb) Burritt of Florida, and Martin E. Burritt and his husband, Roy Spreckelsen of Utica, her sisters; Margaret (John) Sleggs of Hornell and Elizabeth "Betty" (Lou) Cartella of Hornell, her brother, Patrick Michael (Gail) Clancy of Hornell, Special friends: Pat Manning. Ruth Kendall, and Kim Wood, Grandchildren; Ronald "Chip" Schaumberg, Daniel K. (Erica) Rahr, Andrea (Casey) Sharp, Cory Rahr, Maria (David) Bordeaux, Stephen Burritt Jr., Kevin (Rose) Palmer, Jessica (Christopher) Day, Great Grandchildren; Alegra Bordeaux, David Bordeaux Jr.,Connor Sharp, Kolby Sharp, Kaiden Sharp, Raidyn Rahr, Jersey Schaumberg, Joseph Wright, Matthew Palmer, Emily Day, and Rhianna Day, nieces and nephews.

The family will be present from 1 PM until 3PM Saturday, July 30, 2016, at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell where a service conducted by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hornell VFW will be held at 2:45 PM followed by Anna's Funeral services at 3:00 PM, Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery.
